Guy Hepner Los Angeles and Los Angeles based artist Neal Spector announce October 23, 2008 as the formal opening of Labels.

Los Angeles based, Detroit native Neal Spector is no stranger to the limelight.

Before commencing work as an artist, Spector was one of the founding creatives behind one of Hollywood's biggest creative firms. Years of exposure to both television and conspicuous consumption inspired him to create the 'Labels' body of work. Taking the television show 'What's My Line?' as his cue, Spector's work is a curious mix of influences.

References to Richard PrinceJenny Holzer and Barbara Kruger all exist, creating powerful portraits that convey a telling critique on the society we live in.

Spector works in both color and black and white, using digitally manipulated original source imagery and vintage photography.

Bryant park that is...
Having just been to Spring fashion week in the tents at New York I have to say (and it shocks me too)

that I much prefered my first event of LA fashion week by GEN ART.
The show was held at the Peterson Museum and featured 12 fresh faces of fashion.
The event might have just changed my negative to a positive!

The filmmaker will add designer to her resume with a line of shoes and handbags for the fashion giant .  The goods will be sold everywhere but will first launch in Japan.
(Seems like a perfect marriage to me, but I would be curious to know what other designer think?  Is it a similar feeling with models vs actors for  the covers.)
What I love is that if you "made it" you can make it...from films to handbags.  Power Bitch.
 and can't wait to see...
